Re-Water proof your bivvy !
You will need :- Thompsons water seal(clear)
Paint brush
Small tub
In August last year i decided to water proof my old aqua armo bivvy and winterskin as a few leeks had occured over the years of use in all weathers. Nearly a year later and i still have no leaks, no after affects, nothing has fell off or come undone, but,,,,,, DONT BLAME ME IF ANYTHING DOES HAPPEN TO YOUR BIVVY/BROLLY,I ACCEPT NO RESPONSABILITY FOR WHAT YOU ARE ABOUT TO DO ! I was told to use
Thompsons waterseal ( clear ) ---- make sure you buy the clear version-----

armed with a brush and a big tin of the treatment i gave it a go.as it only cost £10 from focus diy (was on a special offer).
you dont need the big tin as i got but worked out cheaper as the tin half the size was £6.99.
here's what and not to do.
it was a hot day so was ideal for doing this,,dont do it on rainy or cold days if possible.
1, set up your bivvy as best possible on your garden.
2, tip some of the water seal into a tub (around 2 cup fulls should do)
3, paint your bivvy,,,i started at the top and worked down,,concentrating on the edges and stitching.
4, the bivvy will go slightly darker in colour (see pics)

5,dont let too much of it get on your grass,,it will kill the area it has touched.
6,dont put too much on your brush at the same time as it will flick and possibly go in your eyes,,not good.
7, once an area has been coated and has dried, dont do the seams again like i did,,as it can leave run marks and even darker areas.

8,make sure you leave to dry a good few hours.
9, it will smell a little but after a while the smell will go.
hey presto transformed into good as new with no leaks what so ever !
well worth £10 you must admit.
Happy brushing !
