DEFIANT MPS

Kieth started defiant mps a few years ago after getting fed up with using inferior products. He started to make various stainless gear to use for himself and after quite a few enquiries and making “one offs” for a few anglers decided to set up his own business making and selling custom stainless metal wear.

The business has gone from strength to strength and has a very busy workshop with plenty of orders. Kieth does not sell any of his products to tackle shops as he believes “it cuts out the middle man” and also cuts down on the price the angler has to pay for the final product. Many anglers respect him for this.

He has a lot of competition from companies like solar, matrix, muddy waters, fox, diawa, century neville, and diawa just to name a few,, but until you actually use defiant mps gear you do not realise what you have been missing,,, the service and quality is superb, kieth is very helpful and will try his hardest to get what you want.

INDICATORS that i own and use

Mag heads

Its hard to better a good design of indicator head but yet again mps have done it ! the mag head does not need   a line clip that screws on the top of the body, therefore it is less money, less weight, less to go wrong. it purely relies on a small near stainless ball bearing held closed by a neodymium magnet.Here i also use HAWK CORDS,they are made from sterling silver.

The Scorpion Indicator

I use this for either long range fishing of in windy conditions. Whether you need to be “locked up” tight to a snag or are fishing 200 yards or are in a force 8 gale (like i was in this picture),yet another top indicator.

Special & One Off's

If you want something special making, like i did a few years ago, give kieth a ring, i am an old skool carper,and missed my monkey climbers for slack line fishing,so i had these babies made,,which are now part and parcel at mps.

Matrix Indicators

I popped down to the tackle shop the other day to have a look at the new matrix gear that has come out,and i was quite impressed by it all.
I am a self confessed tart when it comes to tackle and have owned a little bit of matrix gear over the last few years,so know it is well made and looks the part. The new bite indicator system has taken me aback though,,the build quality is very very good,the design is superb,and its not too expensive.
There is a range of indicators to suit most,if not every situation,from the old hot head hangers to the new delux hot head hangers,cheeky monkey indicators,sweepers,kompressors and new aero line clips and cord.
The new stainless multi-block is the main part of the new indicator system,it is basically a hockystick that fits under the alarm but has vertical swivel movement that can be locked by turning the knurled nut on the side or to leave free wheeling.

The New block is still a 2ba thread so takes all solar/matrix and most other chains etc.
The deluxe hot head system is the same as the old hot head body and chain but with the new mutiblock.

Cheekey Monkey

Onto the CHEEKEY MONKEY,as some of you may know i am an old school guy,,hence i love these! Based on the old monkey climber system,but without the need for a satellite areial system,and they dont need pushing into the ground. Add on weights can be bought seperatley to screw onto the body.Superb for slack line fishing.

Kompressor

The kompressor is superb for distance or snag fishing,but if "freewheeled" it can be a good lightwheight system.For distance fishing it can really put some tension on the line.simalar to the old solar quiver system.

Sweeper System

The sweeper system is a simple vertical movement arm,that will not move left or right under windy conditions.weight can be added to the body to get more tension if needed.

Aero Cords

I liked the areo cords,,supple enough and lightweight for the finickyest of bites,yet stong.

Overall,i was very impressed by the new indicator system,and would recomend it. Not too expensive but for you guys on a budget,,,get saving !
