allo all, im going moument in a weeks time fishing peg3, any tips would be welcomed

with the monument but theres a few on here that can

allo m8, any help would help, i went about 2 years ago,didnt catch anything on peg 1

apparently they have banned maggots ? too many folk doing too well on then for a guess !

Maggots are banned from March every year so that the fish switch back on to bollies and maintain there weight.

When fishing peg three there is tree on the far left hand bank that casts a reflection on the water, if you cast to the tip of that reflection which is only 30 yards out you will be sitting on top of a small plateau that is a fish feeding area.

I had my best session of this spot 1 x 49lber, 2 x 30lbers & 5 x 20lbers.

Just feed them gently as the fish will move out if they feel over pressured.

hi thax john,i thank u 4 the help, glad 2 here that peg3 had sum nice big fish come out. my pb is 15lb, hopeing 2 beat that on the 15th. bollies the best way 2 go then, what u recon 2 flavour? thax again

I popped in to thr monumrnt today just for a chat and at the moment the only way that they are comming out is on zig rigs but the guys did say that the fish were up the corner of peg 3 but they were up in the water and the forecast is not much better for the following week so i would not see things being much different.

I would go with a zig at about four feet and a single to keep casting about.

thax mate, the fish am in that corner then, i got a good chance then,i never fished the zig though, i know of it just never tryed it. it having the bait in mid water, the water must be warmier there.thax again m8, u give me lots os advice

im back from monument, didnt catch, had a few liners, no run though, water was very clear. i saw a pic of u john in the cafe with your 49 pounder, wish i cound catch on of 20 let olone one close to fifty, is that 49 your pb john?
