Hi
im wanting to make my own stick mix and was wondering how do i go about this? What do i use as a base mix and whats best and not best to put in it? What consistency do i have to get it to also. Whats the best storage for a stick mix can i make it up weeks before with all the bits in it and then freeze it or is it best to do this the night before?
thanks

I'd recommend buy a ready made stick mix base mayyte something maybe from bait-tech or dynamites or ask your local tackle shop depending where your located!? then add your extra bits to that! hope this helps

buy a stick mix :??: lol

My usual stick mix is based on the boilies im using finely ground in a 'korda krusher', i then add a groundbait (black / green or brown) to colour the boilie base to match the expected lake bottom i generally then add a can of tuna inc juice, a flavour additive like a mainline glug then a small amount of mixed sized pellets for a varying break down.

i give it a good shake in a tub and use as required. If iv a worth while amount left at the end of a session ill sling it in the freezer for next time.

Its handy to have a mix made up ready to grab for a spot of stalking or barbeling etc

I make them at home or on the bank thumbsup

ok cheers guys for your responses i think the boilie crumb sounds a good idea as it will obviously match my bookbait then aswell. Is it possible to use bread crumb as a base though for a stick mix to bulk it out abit and then still add the boilie crumb and any other extra bits want to add in?

crumbed breads fine,

other things i've used and caught well on,

Mixed in Blue cheese (the real smelly stuff) just add a little to your mix
crumbed hemp
shredded tuna
most tinned fish (blend first)
prawns
Worms

You can then get it down to a fine art on the colour of the mix, either to blend into the lake bed or stand out... or play with PVA friendly liquids to make different trails (i.e lighter oils to go up in the water or heavy to sink)

Lots of different ways to play with a stick mix

hope this helps thumbsup

can i just add, use a few pellets in your stick, so when the pellets expand from the water it blows the stick apart. just something to think about.
