I fished Great Linford Lakes, Parc Farm 1 from 16th to 23rd March, started off on a west bank swim, moved two fishless days later to the mussel swim on the east bank. Result, totally nackered from the move but six fish, best a common 20lb15oz, with plenty of rain, wind, and mud, (and a couple of bream). The general view was that the fish had gone off the feed, possibly due to too many fishing the lake over the weekend. I lost three sets of end tackle due to being cut off by the mussels and ended up using 30lb b/s Amnesia as a leader on one rod. I met a couple of smashing anglers up there, they even shared their barbie with me. I am looking forward to returning as soon as I can but I do not seem to be able to get to the lakes as often as I would like as other lakes I fish are nearer to home.
